Description of the project environment

The African Cultural Festival is a meeting place for those who are a little more about Euro-African relations want to know. One benefit of the African Cultural Festival is the fact that many African first and second generation is involved, and thus authentic experiences and perceptions can be passed on. In the presentations and discussions take so many different viewpoints on each other, what communication processes active and lively discussions and provides the visitors a reflection on their own opinions formally impose. The topics relate to Africa, first course, second to Austria (the African situation in Austria, concrete projects in the Austrian Development Cooperation) and thirdly, to international linkages, such as Truth and Reconciliation Commission. In 2009, the following lectures, panel discussions and the Workshos living in Austria dedicated to Africans.

Their goal was to provide victims and perpetrators in a "dialogue", and thus a basis for the reconciliation of the divided population groups. Primarily this was to be heard, or the perception of the experience, of each other.

The idea of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission in recent years in other countries have been implemented. Among other things, in Peru (Comisión de la Verdad y Reconciliación) and in East Timor. In both cases, South Africa as a model. Some time ago there were voices, even in Iraq, the chances of a truth and reconciliation commission pointed out.
